I don’t mind if you disagree with me. I don’t mind if you point out where I made an error (it happens often). However, if you feel the need to attack me personally, our discussion is over. I’m not an expert on this topic, and my thinking is limited to one particular corner of the issues, the scientific data on health effects. Outside that realm, my opinion is no better (or worse) than anyone else. I’m quite prepared to admit when I’ve allowed bias to affect my analysis. I hope some of you will do the same. To be honest, I didn’t realize that wanting to see less drug usage was a bias. I’d like to see less cigarette smoking, less alcohol abuse, less pot smoking and fewer people smoking crack or shooting up heroin. I didn’t realize that was a controversial bias. I didn’t quite grasp that some people think MORE people smoking pot was a good thing. I don’t see these apologists for other drugs. Citations given on-screen. If your medication comes in a multi-dose vial, clean the rubber diaphragm of the vial with an alcohol wipe. Discard the wipe into the trash. Remove the cap from the needle. Pull down the plunger of the needle until the syringe contains the same volume of air as the medication you are going to give. Hold the vial upside down at eye level. Without touching the needle, insert it through the diaphragm of the vial. Diabetes Patient Education Keep the tip of the needle below the level of the medication in the vial. Depress the plunger to inject the air into the vial. Slowly pull down on the plunger to take into the syringe the amount of medication prescribed for you. Pull the needle out of the vial. Hold the syringe vertically and flick the barrel with a fingernail to make any air bubbles float to the top under the needle.
