Dumping Episode

FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY I wanted to document this for those pre-ops who are considering gastric bypass surgery. Plus, I feel it is necessary to explain why I have a love/hate relationship with dumping. My personal dumping symptoms: sweating, racing heart, fast breathing rate, severe nausea, burning sensation in my abdomen, dizziness. It usually lasts about 20-30 minutes, but feels like forever. I have to say, that was terrifying to watch. I haven’t dumped (YET!), but I’ll think of this vid the next time I flirt with my sugar limitations. And I totally agree with your comments - I NEEDED this surgery and I really do believe that. Big hugs, girl.

Thanks for watching. Funny how some foods are as addictive as drugs to some of us. Luckily you won’t have to endure this since you had lapband. Unfortunately, this is how I keep my addiction under control….Cheri

THank you so much for documenting yourself in such a vulnerable situation this video is going to help so many people! Im proud of you for being brave enough to allow people to see you go through this experience

I don’t know if it will last forever, but 2 years postop, yep … I still dump. It’s not a frequent thing, but if I eat just a *bit* too much sugar in something (usually hidden because I read labels like it’s a religion or something), then I feel the aura starting and then I dump. I try VERY hard to avoid it at all costs, but still I’m glad that I know it’s a possibility because it keeps me focused, ya know?

It was very brave of you to share this, and show some real effects of wls. It’s not the easy way obviously shown here, but for some it is the only way. Take care of yourself and no more chocolates!

cheri, that was really brave. I hope you’re feeling back to yourself again.

I agree. There needs to be more dumping videos out there. I tried looking for them when I was pre-op to see what it was exactly. I think most post-ops dump occasionally. This was the first time that I thought about grabbing the camera.

  12. clbroadway Says:

    thanks, Mia.

  13. clbroadway Says:

I do feel better now. Thanks for watching. I hope you never experience this.

  14. clbroadway Says:

Wow! You rock to have only dumped like this ONCE. I just never learn!!! I dump like this about once or twice every 2 weeks. I think it is partially because my hubby is a foodie and brings it home.

  15. clbroadway Says:

Glad I am not the only person who chose RNY because of the dumping.

  16. clbroadway Says:

It took me a few months before I ever strayed to something that caused dumping. Learn from me! Follow your rules. Dumping SUCKS.

  17. clbroadway Says:

Good for you for not dumping (yet). Hopefully that is because you are doing what you are supposed to be doing.

  18. clbroadway Says:

No way…Deb has eaten something to cause dumping?!!! I’m shocked!

  19. clbroadway Says:

You still dump?? Will this last forever?

  20. clbroadway Says:

Thanks for watching. I feel much better.

  21. clbroadway Says:

Thanks for watching. You rock my socks, too!

  22. clbroadway Says:

Thanks for watching. I am feeling better now.

  23. clbroadway Says:

Thanks, Cami. Hopefully you will not go as far as I did.

  24. clbroadway Says:

The reason I even made the video was because I started thinking of yours when I started dumping. I thought…my turn to document! I have been wanting to, but was afraid of the negative comments. I am glad I did it now.
