How times have you turned to food for comfort when you are stressed? By it is probably a reaction that you no longer think about until you are on the scale or when you are feeling bloated and over stuffed.

Many people reach for food when they are upset and stressed out. If you are one of those people that find comfort in food then you are not alone. You do not have to judge that relationship with food that you have. It is hard to change something that has an emotional connection for you. But you might find it easier to replace the things that you reach for.

Find a reliable source of information about how to prepare healthy and nourishing meals for you and your family. You can still love people through food. And you can feel good that the food you give them will help live longer and healthier lives. After some time you will be able to eat out again. Once you can make better food choices, you can treat yourself to dinner out.

Preparing food and cooking it is a way to love and nurture your body and your families. This is not to say that you will never go out to eat again but by preparing meals you learn what foods are good for you and the best way to prepare those foods. That way when you do eat out, you will know enough by food to make smarter choices.

Another one of the significant natural weight loss tips is that water is your best friend. It rids your body of all the toxins that are in your body from eating unhealthy foods. When you drink water with your meals you will feel fuller quicker. And the water helps keep your body hydrated and healthy.

Losing Weight The Natural Way - Where To Start

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

There is no such thing as a perfect and easy weight loss system, but many good ones do exist and it will depend on the user as to how effective any system will ultimately be. There is more harm caused to an overweight person than just pride as many serious medical conditions are as a result of obesity.

Personal commitment to achieving a desired result is no different for people using an easy weight loss system as it is for anything a person tries to achieve. First of all you have to ask yourself about the reasons why you want to lose weight; is it for yourself so you are healthier and have better looks or are you doing it for someone else?

What About Natural Weight Loss

Natural weight loss means lowering your daily calorie intake while increasing the amount of calories you burn through exercise. You would think that would straightaway put all those specialist diet companies and the whole industry out of business, but that is not the case as over a 3rd of Americans are overweight. There are a number of reasons why you would want to lose those excess pounds once you have put it on, although what reason is strong enough to actually encourage you to do it, good health or looks?

The strange thing is though that it is so much simpler to stay trim than it is to lose weight because as soon as you start putting on weight, quite a few things become more difficult. Subconsciously we all acknowledge that if we do not maintain a healthy food program for ourselves, we will start to add extra pounds. Surveys have shown that it is more likely a person who has lost weight using a calorie controlled diet, even if they actually enjoyed it, are more likely to go back to their old eating habits at some point.

Losing Weight With Herbs

Herbal weight loss supplements have become so popular in the last decade that manufacturers are spinning out more and more products and this leaves us, the consumers, confused by the choices. One of the most exciting finds in recent years has been the Hoodia Gordonni cactus from certain parts of Africa which acts as an appetite suppressant. By fooling the brain into believing the body does not need food it is able to control how much the user consumes and has been used by local populations for many centuries.

How To Create A Svelte Figure In 7 Easy Tips

Monday, July 6th, 2009

Skinny people intrigue everyone. What has it taken them to get that figure, or is it simply the result of lucky jeans? Er, I mean genes People wonder if the skinny just got lucky or if they have to work really hard to stay thin.

Its both true and untrue.

We suspect that the skinny, skinny people must really work hard to stay skinny. We accuse them of eating rabbit food when we see them eating nothing but lettuce with no dressing and watch every tiny morsel that crosses their hips

On the other hand there are other thin individuals who make thin look easy.

Naturally thin people have many traits in common that help to maintain their thin figures. After interviewing hundreds of naturally skinny folks over the course of 14 years, I’ve come up with seven skinny secrets they have in common. You might be able to identify with some of them and you also might be able to make a few slight shifts that would help you to become naturally thin too.

1. These people have thin thinking. They know they can stay thin forever and make comments like I’m little, or I’m not going to be able to eat all of that. Their self talk is different than others. Their actions to circumstances and events are different. Food is not their placebo when a pet dies or they have to do something unpleasant. To them food is just food. It may taste good, they enjoy eating it, but it isn’t there for anything but to be used as fuel for their bodies.

2. Thin people don’t diet. True Fact. Dieting would never enter the thoughts of these naturally thin adults. You ask Why?, because they have never had to and have never thought of themselves as anything but thin. If during my research I asked a thin person if they were concerned about becoming heavy and their response invariably was No! When I pressed them, they said, because I’ve never been overweight.

3. The naturally thin don’t mix emotions and food. If the thin are sad, they cry or call a friend. If they are angry, they go work out or punch their pillows. There is little to no crossover between emotions and eating. It simply doesn’t make sense to them. The only reason food is ever thought of is because they get hungry - that’s it. If they are not hungry, but sad - they will deal with their sadness. Dealing with emotions in an emotional way is commonplace for this thin group.

4. Naturally thin people don’t have to eat to be sociable. Should a thin person go to a bar-b-que and not be hungry, they don’t have any problem mixing and talking but not eating. Whenever they happen to get hungry, they grab something to eat, but not until they are hungry. They are there to enjoy the socializing with family and friends. They don’t know the meaning of the term grazing.

5. The naturally thin eat foods they love. It would never make sense for them to eat celery sticks if they weren’t craving celery. They eat foods that they crave when they are hungry. They never go into deprivation mode by saying no, I can’t have that. They know that they are entitled to eat whatever they want when they are hungry. No is not an option unless of course there is an allergy or sensitivity to certain foods.

6. Naturally thin people never eat just for the sake of eating or to numb themselves. They are conscious of the effect what they eat have on their bodies. They probably wouldn’t be found at the movies with their hand at the bottom of the empty bucket of popcorn looking around for who ate it all. Naturally thin people pay attention to how hungry or full they are from the time they begin eating until they have finished the meal. These naturally thin people don’t know anything about diets, counting calories or any other shenanigans.

7. These thin people never overeat. They are appalled by overeating. They know it sucks their energy and bloats their stomachs. Yekk, the extreme discomfort prevents them from repeating the experience and reinforces the negative aspect of overeating. Average naturally thin people overeat less than two percent of the time.

Can you tell the difference in their mindset and actions?

Now you know that thin has nothing to do with luck, or genetics, the quality or type of food. Thin people don’t gain weight because of how they eat, their connection with their body, when they eat and the freedom to choose any type of food.

If you are thinking about losing weight, you now know it isn’t about diet since the naturally thin don’t. And now is the time to do it!

Can the 3 P’s Strategy be used to Put the Kabosh on Emotional Eating?

Saturday, May 9th, 2009

Since emotional eating is often tied to things like procrastination, stress, boredom, joy or even love, it is not always easy to put the kabosh on it.

Here are 3 exercises to end emotional eating:

1. Plan ” Sometimes people get in the habit with overeating. Do you ever find yourself coming home from work, walking into the kitchen and mindlessly poking your head in the refrigerator hoping to find some comfort? You can avoid this entirely by creating a new plan of attack. I used to visualize coming home at the end of the day, plunging my hand into a bag of chips and throwing myself on the couch. As I slimmed down, I created a new plan or a new picture if you will. My new plan was to plunge myself on the couch, wrap myself in a blanket, watch tv and grab some tea. I love my new plan and so does my body!

2. Pause - Truly, the moment that craving hits, it is almost impossible to get in the middle of overeating. Your mind is a powerful thing and the craving for food can become so intense that stopping it is like trying to stop a monster. So, make it into a game - set a timer and wait until the timer goes off. Do something relaxing or fun to distract yourself for five minutes. Studies show that if you can wait the craving out for five to fifteen minutes, it will in all likelihood pass.

3. Put it to Pen - At the top of a page of paper, write the title; “What Do I Need?” We are all aware that emotional eating has nothing to do with being hungry but is about something more. Just begin writing and let the words flow, don’t edit anything. While at first it may not make sense, you will find meaning about what you need. By writing it out, you may find a need for love, feeling out of control and stressed, or my favorite, want to relax and veg out. After having determined your need(s), put down how these needs can be met or how you can begin to meet those needs. For example, I want to relax and do nothing, so I will. But if I don’t have time at the moment, I’ll plan on doing nothing in a few hours in order to take care of my needs. Writing is also relaxing so it is the perfect way to distract you from emotional eating and find out how you really feel. Writing can also teach you the nature of your wants and needs to enable you to better take care of yourself and your needs.

With a plan that you follow, you will be successful

Lose Weight Naturally With These 4 Steps

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

Aren’t you sick and tired of these fad diets and the ridiculous promises and claims that these magic pill companies put out there?

The fact that you are always looking for the next fad diet or miracle pill to help you lose weight is making these companies money hand over fist. They know that the their diet methods are not good for your body, but that doesn’t concern them.

Let me tell you what you need to do to turn your life around. Follow these four steps and stick to them and you will lose weight, have higher self esteem, and increase your energy!

1. Before anything else, you need to completely change your mindset. This is perhaps the biggest key to changing your bad eating habits. Focus on what will be. Envision how your life will be once you’ve accomplished your goals. What will you look like?, how will you feel?, what will you be wearing?.

This is all very important. I want you to take about 15 to 20 minutes everyday and just focus on this one thought. Before you begin, make sure you’re mentally in a happy place. If you’re not, wait till later or listen to some music or do whatever you need to do to get into a good mood.

2. Now you need to get rid of those awful eating habits. It’s time to find a mentor or coach to help guide you along the way. Trust me when I tell you that it’s much easier this way. Find an author or a health coach on the internet that is into eating naturally is the way to go. They have been where you are and they can relate.

The all natural approach to eating does take a little getting used to, but I assure you, once you’ve adjusted to this lifestyle, you’re going to wonder why you didn’t start sooner.

3. It’s time to incorporate some exercises. But before you actually do start exercising, you need to inform your physician of your new life game plan. Your doctor will let you know how slow you should start with your exercising and maybe even give some to start with.

Being new to exercising, if that’s the case, you need to start out low impact and build up with time. My advice is to start with low impact aerobic activity. You’re local gym or health offer some great classes and trainers. As you get used to your routine and it’s not very hard for you anymore, add more time or add in a different routine. Start lifting weights. After a while you’ll want to perform the aerobic and the weight training.

4. Your going to need ample rest. This kind of goes without saying. Some people are proud of the fact that they need little sleep to feel good. That’s wonderful. Just try to get at least 8 hours of sleep anyway. It will do your body and mind good.

Though I’m sure you’ll welcome this with all the exercising and energy you’ve expended all day.

So there you are. The 4 steps to improving your health and your life as a whole. It’s up to you to implement the steps laid out for you here. The journey starts with that first step. Believe in yourself!

The Best Natural Weight Loss Diet

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

The best way to loose weight is to focus on effective and natural weight loss through a reduction in calories and increase in physical activity. If it were that simple the one third of overweight Americans would be able to do something about the situation, one which is gradually affecting people around the world. Despite this, most of these overweight people want to be trim again although it is probably more for cosmetic reasons than those related to their health.

What most people do not realize is keeping at the right weight is much, much easier than losing it. Nevertheless weight maintenance is something that has to be worked on and planned otherwise we will put on extra pounds.

For some reason even when dieters who have become used to, and enjoy, a low calorie diet, they eventually drift back to old habits and start piling the pounds back on again. You can maintain your weight through natural weight loss methods mentioned in the fat loss 4 idiots review and even if being at the centre of unwanted attention doesn’t convince you, surely your health should.

The truth is there is a huge price to pay with your health when you are overweight and in particular, clinically obese. The annoying part is that natural weight maintenance is not difficult to understand but overweight people choose to ignore this.

According to fat loss 4 idiots review natural weight loss requires a balanced approach which means a diet that contains quantities of complex carbohydrates, fiber, reduced fat and not too much protein. If you were looking at a meal then this would be a baked potato (carbohydrate), the vegetables would be the fiber and a little meat, is the protein.

Health experts say that dietary fat promotes weight gain because it is a very dense source of calories and you store those calories as body fat easier than calories from other sources. Don’t fall into the fat-free trap where manufacturers keep coming out with low-fat or fat-free versions of their best-selling foods despite the fact that Americans are getting fatter anyway.

The misconception is if you are eating something fat-free then you won’t be adding extra fat to your body but all food contains calories, just not always in the form of fat, which was highlighted by fat loss 4 idiots review. Weight control methods ensure you avoid the fat-free products but suggest you eat healthy and nutritious snacks if you are hungry.

It is believed in some circles that a natural method of weight loss is to eat less but more often without actually missing meals, which can get you into bad habits. When combined with regular exercise, this natural weight loss plan offers a way to lose unwanted pounds in the long run.

Naturally thin people have many traits in common that help to maintain their thin figures. After interviewing hundreds of naturally skinny folks over the course of 14 years, Ive come with seven skinny secrets they have in common. You might be able to identify with some of them and you also might be able to make a few slight shifts that would help you to become naturally thin too.

1. Thin is the thinking of the day with thin people. They KNOW they will be thin forever. They never talk about being fat, or not having enough to eat. They tell themselves thin stuff and their reaction to circumstances is different. They dont use food to placate themselves if something unpleasant happens or go on an eating binge when procrastinating. They dont see food as anything more than as fuel for their bodies. They may enjoy it, but that is all there is to it.

2. Thin people dont diet. True Fact. Dieting would never enter the thoughts of these naturally thin adults. You ask Why?, because they have naver had to and have never thought of themselves as anything but thin. If during my research I asked a thin person if they were concerned about becoming heavy and their response invariably was No! When I pressed them, they said, because Ive never been overweight.

3. Never mix emotions and food. If a thin person is sad, they go cry or talk to someone. If they become angry about something, they do something to relieve that stress like working out or punching their pillows. They just dont confuse emotions and eating because it makes no sense to them. The only time they think about food is when they become hungry ” not because they are upset or sad. When upset or sad, they deal with those emotions. When they are hungry, only then is when they eat. They commonly deal with emotions in an emotional way.

4. Naturally thin people dont have to eat to be sociable. Shuld a thin person go to a bar-b-que and not be hungry, they dont have any problem mixing and talking but not eating. Whenever they happen to get hungry, they grab something to eat, but not until they are hungry. They are there to enjoy the socializing with family and friends. They dont know the meaning of the term grazing.

5. Being naturally thin means eating what a person loves. It doesnt mean eating celery sticks if they arent craving celery sticks. Eating foods they crave takes place when they are hungry. They would never think of not eating something or saying no, that isnt good for me unless of course there is some allergy or sensitivity to the food. Thin people know they can eat whatever they want should they be hungry.

6. Naturally thin people never eat just for the sake of eating or to numb themselves. They are conscious of the effect what they eat have on their bodies. They probably wouldnt be found at the movies with their hand at the bottom of the empty bucket of popcorn looking around for who ate it all. Naturally thin people pay attention to how hungry or full they are from the time they begin eating until they have finished the meal. These naturally thin people dont know anything about diets, counting calories or any other shenanigans.

7. Overeating is not something naturally thin people do. This group of individuals see no value in overeating. They know it saps their energy and causes their bellys to protrude. Yuck! Overeating causes extreme discomfort and reinforces the negative feeling while keeping them from overeating. Overeating occuis less than two percent of the time in naturally thin people.

Can you see the difference in their actions and mindset?

You’ve learned that it’s not your genetics or luck; its not the quality or types of food that determines whether these thin individuals gain weight. Its about how they eat, when they eat, their connection with their body and the freedom to choose all types of foods.

So, now that you know all this, if you are considering losing weight, there is no time like the present and dieting isnt necessary as the naturally thin dont.
